About a month ago, Julie Paisley asked if anyone would be interested in a styled bridal session at the Cherry blossom trees in Washington DC. First of all, I have never been to DC…. ever. Yes, people, I have NEVER seen the White House! No 8th grade class trip, no random weekend getaway, nada. I wanted to see the White House. Second, I didn’t know anything about Cherry blossom tress being there, let alone the crowd it draws to something called “The Cherry Blossom Festival”. So, my curiosity peaked and I replied that I was interested.. after all, DC isn’t that far of a drive and I would have the chance to see Julie (love her!!) again as well as get to shoot alongside her. Then she posted a picture of the dress that was her inspiration… oh my goodness. I was there.

I carpooled with 2 other Jersey girls, one of which was our beautiful model, and we headed to DC for an overnight trip. We were shooting at sunrise, which doesn’t sound all that appealing when you go to bed at 1:00am, but let me tell you… it was worth every mile driven and every minute of sleep we lost…… Enjoy!

As you can see, this was an absolute dream to be a part of this and I am so happy to have met Julie. Because of her, I now want to have a “photographer bucket list” compiled of things that I want to shoot. This was one of hers and I can say it was worth the extra effort put forth to make it happen. What a great experience!!

Oh and after this amazing session, I finally got to see the White House. 😉
